Random Walks Along the Streets and Channels in Compact Cities: Spectral analysis, Dynamical Modularity, Information, and Statistical Mechanics

چکیده
Statistics of random walks in compact cities helps to detect their modularity. The complexity of city modularity can be measured by an information-like parameter which plays the role of an individual fingerprint of Genius loci. Global structural properties of a city can be characterized by the thermodynamical parameters calculated in the random walks problem. PACS codes: 89.75.Fb, 89.75.-k, 89.90.+n

Random walks along the streets and canals in compact cities: spectral analysis, dynamical modularity, information, and statistical mechanics.
Different models of random walks on the dual graphs of compact urban structures are considered. Analysis of access times between streets helps to detect the city modularity. The statistical mechanics approach to the ensembles of lazy random walkers is developed. The complexity of city modularity can be measured by an information-like parameter which plays the role of an individual fingerprint o...
متن کاملTopologically biased random walk and community finding in networks.
We present an approach of topology biased random walks for undirected networks. We focus on a one-parameter family of biases, and by using a formal analogy with perturbation theory in quantum mechanics we investigate the features of biased random walks. This analogy is extended through the use of parametric equations of motion to study the features of random walks vs parameter values. Furthermo...
متن کاملErratum to: Dynamical localization for d-dimensional random quantum walks
We consider a d-dimensional random quantum walk with site-dependent random coin operators. The corresponding transition coefficients are characterized by deterministic amplitudes times independent identically distributed site-dependent random phases. When the deterministic transition amplitudes are close enough to those of a quantum walk which forbids propagation, we prove that dynamical locali...

متن کاملRandom Walks Estimate Land Value in Cities
Expected urban population doubling calls for a compelling theory of the city. Random walks and diffusions defined on spatial city graphs spot hidden areas of geographical isolation in the urban landscape going downhill. First–passage time to a place correlates with assessed value of land in that. The method accounting the average number of random turns at junctions on the way to reach any parti...
